ALTARS is a WebAR art installation exploring themes of family, communication, spirituality, Afro-surrealism, and futurism from a Black American lens. By using WebAR visuals, soundscapes, and storytelling, a narrative comes alive around a series of futuristic altars that reference three specific spiritual rites that come from traditional "altars" that have served in Black and POC cultures around the world. By leaning on traditions of spirituality in Black and POC cultures around the world combined with a vision of futurist adaptation, ALTARS is a celebration of Black soul and ritual.
